برنامج التقييم الدولي للطلبة (Programme for International Student Assessment واختصاره PISA) هو تقييم على مستوى العالم للأداء المدرسي لطبلة المدارس في عمر 15 سنة، أُجري لأول مرة في عام 2000 ويتكرر كل ثلاث سنوات. وينسقه منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية (OECD)، بهدف تحسين السياسات التعليمية ونتائجها. وهناك دراسة مماثلة أخرى هي مناحي في دراسة الرياضيات والعلوم عالمياً، والتي تركز على الرياضيات والعلوم ولكن لا تهتم بالقراءة.
For many countries, the first PISA results were a nasty surprise; in Germany, for example, the comparatively low scores brought on heated debate about how the school system should be changed. Other countries had an agreeable surprise. Some headlines in national newspapers, for example, were:
