ليليان ديانا گيش Lillian Diana Gish‏[1] (14 أكتوبر 1893 - 27 فبراير 1993) إنگليزية: Lillian Gish كانت ممثلة أمريكية رائدة في السينما والمسرح،[2] وكذلك مخرجة وكاتبة. استمرت في التمثيل 75 عاماً، من 1912، في الأفلام الصامتة والقصيرة، وصولاً إلى 1987. وقد أُطلِق عليها السيدة الأولى للسينما الأمريكية، ويُنسب إليها فضل التقنيات الأساسية في أداء الأفلام.[3]

وُلِدت گيش في سپرنگفيلد، أوهايو، كأول أطفال ماري روبنسون مكونل (1876–1948)، الممثلة، وجيمس لي گيش (1873[5]–1912).[6][7] ليليان كان لها شقيقة أصغر، دوروثي، التي أصبحت هي الأخرى نجمة شعبية للأفلام.


حياتها العملية

البداية

قامت گيش ببدايتها المسرحية في 1902، في Little Red School House في رايزنگ‌صن، أوهايو. ومن 1903 إلى 1904، جابت ليليان بمسرحيتها Her First False Step، مع والدتها ودوروثي. وفي العام التالي، رقصت في انتاج عن سارة برنارد في مدينة نيويورك.
