بحر المَرْجان Coral Sea جزر. تمتد جزر بحر المرجان إلى الشمال الشرقي من الحاجز البحري العظيم ولا تتعدّى معظم هذه الجزر كونها أكوامًا رملية. وتنتشر على مساحة مليون كم² ولا تتعدّى الأرض البحرية الحقيقية فيها بضعة كيلو مترات مربعة، وقد اعتبرت هذه الجزر ضمن الحدود الأسترالية عام 1969م.

بحر المرجان مصدر هام من الناحية الايكولوجية للشعاب الحاجز المرجاني العظيم، سواء أثناء وبعد تشكيلها تخفيض مستوى سطح البحر.
