رستفارية

عادة ما يطالب الرستفاريون بعلم إثيوپيا الذي كان مستخدماً في عهد هايله سيلاسي. ويجمع العلم بين أسد يهودا القائد، رمز الملكية الإثيوپية، واللون الأخضر، الذهبي والأحمر.

الرستفارية Rastafari، وتسمى أحياناً الحركة الرستفارية، هي ديانة إبراهيمية تطورت في جامايكا في فترة الثلاثينيات. علماء الأديان والمجالات المتعلقة بها صنفوا الرستفارية كحركة دينية واجتماعية جديدة. لا توجد سلطة مركزية للسيطرة على الحركة وهناك الكثير من التجانس بين معتنقيها، والذي يطلق عليهم الرستفارية، الرستفاريون، أو الرستايون.

تشير الرستفارية إلى اعتقاداتهم، والتي تعتمد على تفسير محدد للكتاب المقدس، يسمى "علم الرستافرية". تتمركز هذه الديانة حول الإيمان بإله واحد- يشار إليه باسم جاه- الذي يقف مع كل الأفراد. امبراطور إثيوپيا السابق، هايله سيلاسي، كان له أهمية مركزية. يعتبره الكثير من الرستفاريين تجسيداً لجاه على الأرض وأنه المجيء الثاني للمسيح. بينما يعتبره آخرون بأنه النبي البشري الذي يدرك تماماً الإلوهية الداخلية داخل كل فرد. الرستفارية هي ديانة متمركزة أفريقياً وتركز اهتمامها على الشتات الأفريقي، والذي يعتقد أنه مظلوماً في المجتمع الغربي، أو "البابلي". ينادي الكثير من الرستفاريين باعادة توطين الشتات الأفريقي في إثيوپيا أو عموم أفريقيا، مشيرين إلى القارة بأرض "صهيون" الموعدة. وتحول التفسيرات الأخرى تركيزها إلى اعتماد موقف أفريقي أثناء المعيشة خارج أفريقيا. يشير الرستافاريون إلى شعائرهم الديني "livity". وتعرف اللقاءات المجتمعية باسم "groundations"، وعادة ما تتميز بالموسيقى، الغناء، النقاشات، وتدخين القنب، والذي يعتبر أحد الأسرار المقدسة المفيدة. تركز الرستفارية على ما يعتبرونه الحياة "بشكل طبيعي"، الالتزام بمتطلبات تغذية الإيتال، السماح بتجديل شعورهم، واتباع الأدوار النوعية الأبوية.
