جائحة ڤيروس كورونا
في 20 مارس 2020، أصدر حاكم كاليفورنيا گاڤن نوسم جميع سكان الولاية بعدم مغادرة منازلهم لمنع انتشار ڤيروس كورونا، وذلك حتى إشعار آخر. القرار يسمح للسكان بالخروج لشراء الغذاء والدواء والتريض.[2]
وكان نوسم قد صرح منذ يومين أنه يتوقع أن يصاب 50-60% من سكان الولاية بالفيروس في غضون الشهرين القادمين. ولاية كاليفورنيا، بتعداد 40 مليون نسمة هي أكبر الولايات الأمريكية تعداداً.
