مجتمع تنمية أفريقيا الجنوبية (SADC) هو منظمة دولية مقرها الرئيسي في گابورون, بتسوانا. والهدف الرئيس لها هو زيادة التعاون الإقتصادي, الإجتماعي, السياسية بين الدول الأعضاء. ويعتبر مكملا لدور الإتحاد الأفريقي.

يوجد 14 دولة أفريقية عضوة:

• بتسوانا
• لسوتو
• ملاوي
• موزمبيق
• سوازيلاند
• تنزانيا
• زامبيا
• زيمبابوي
• ناميبيا - منذ 31 مارس 1990 (منذ الإستقلال)
• جنوب أفريقيا - منذ 30 أغسطس 1994
• موريشيوس - منذ 28 أغسطس 1995
• الكونغو الديمقراطية - منذ 8 سبتمبر 1997
• مدغشقر - منذ 18 August 2005

سيشل had also previously been a member of SADC from 8 سبتمبر 1997 until 1 July 2004.

 SADC structure and decision-making procedures

The organisation has eight principal bodies:

• The Summit, comprising heads of state or heads of government, are at the top.
• OPDS, the
• Council of Ministers,
• Tribunal,
• SADC National Committees (SNCs), and the
• Secretariat.

Except for the Tribunal (based in Windhoek, Namibia), SNCs and Secretariat, decision-making is by consensus.
