تيَّار الخليج تيارٌ مصدره المحيط الأطلسي. ويمثل هذا التيار السريع الطرف الشمالي الغربي من شبكة التيارات الكبرى التي تدور باتجاه دوران عقارب الساعة في المحيط الأطلسي. ولتيار الخليج أثر مهم على المناخ والنقل البحري وتوزيع العناصر الغذائية والنفايات التي في المحيط.

أطلق هذا الاسم العالم الأمريكي السياسي بنجامين فرانْكلين معتقداً أن التيار يبدأ في خليج المكسيك، لكنَّ تيار الخليج يتكون في الواقع غربي البحر الكاريبي، ثم يتدفق عبر خليج المكسيك ومضايق فلوريدا، ويتجه شمالاً بمحاذاة الساحل الشرقي للولايات المتحدة إلى كيب هتراس في شمال كارولينا حيث يتجه إلى الشمال الشرقي. ويعاود جزء من التيار، فيما بعد الدوران مُشكلاً تياراً معاكساً. وتشمل التيارات الرئيسية الأخرى في شبكة شمال الأطلسيّ التيار الاستوائي الشمالي وتيار المحيط الأطلسي الشمالي، وتيار الكناري.
