ڤوريا إلادا
ڤوريا إلادا (باليونانية: Voreia Ellada، باليونانية: Βόρεια Ελλάδα)، وتعني اليونان الشمالية، هي first level NUTS administrative division في اليونان خلقها لأغراض إحصائية الاتحاد الاوروبي. The NUTS division contains 4 administrative regions: شرق مقدونيا وتراقيا، وسط مقدونيا، غرب مقدونيا، تساليا, with population 3.590.187 inhabitans, according to eurostat data of 2011.[1]
Although this NUTS division is not used by Greece لأي أسباب الادارية، the term "Northern Greece" is widely used to refer mainly to the two northern regions of مقدونيا and تراقيا; وبذلك فإن وزارة مقدونيا وتراقيا السابقة كانت تُعرف بإسم "وزارة اليونان الشمالية" حتى 1988. التعبير قد يضم في العامية منطقة إپيروس (من كنتريكي إلادا NUTS division) وكذلك تساليا.
In linguistics, Northern Greece refers to the areas where the the Northern Greek dialect is traditionally spoken, encompassing in addition to the previous regions اليونان الوسطى ما عدا أتيكا، وشمال إيجة، ماعدا خيوس.[2]
