بيتر بينوفيتش آبيان فلكي ساكسوني عاش بين سنة 1495-1552م كان آبيان أستاذا للرياضيات في انگولستاد رصد خمسة مذنبات وأردك لاول مرة أن أذنابها تتجه ضد الشمس. رصد مذنب سنة1531م وهو مذنب هالي وكان رصدهالى له تمهيدا لتحديد الفلكي إدموند هالي المذنبين اللذين ظهرا في 1607م و1682م وهما نفسه(أى المذنب 1531) والذى تنبأ هالى بعودته سنة 1759م ليظهر فعلا بعد موته.
