أيمن محيي الدين (و. 1 مايو 1979)، هو صحفي مصري أمريكي مراسل قناة الجزيرة الإنگليزية في الشرق الأوسط وغزة.[1] قبلها كان يعمل منتج في سي إن إن وإن بي سي، وهو أحد أوائل الصحفيين الشرقيين الذي سُمح له بحضور وتغطية محاكمة الرئيس العراقي السابق صدام حسين.[1] مؤخرا، قامة أيمن بتغطية الغارات الإسرائيلية على قطاع غزة في ديسمبر 2008.[2] أصبح أيمن محيي الدين أول صحفي يقدم تقريرا عن شبكة الأنفاق المعهدة على الحدود بين مصر وغزة والتي تستخدم حاليا لايصال إمدادات الأدوية والأغذية والوقود إلى داخل القطاع.[3]

حياته المبكرة
ولد أيمن محيي الدين في القاهرة، مصر لأب مصري وأم فلسطينية. نشأ في مصر والولايات المتحدة. أقام فترة طويلة في الشرق الأوسط، وقضى عامين في العراق (2003–2005) كمخرج لقناة سي إن إن الإخبارية.[4] يقيم حاليا في القاهرة وهو مراسل قناة الجزيرة الإنگليزية.[1] تخرج أيمن من الجامعة الأمريكية في واشنطن دي سي، حصل على البكالوريوس في العلاقات الدولية وبخاصة الاتحاد الاوروپي. حصل على الماجستير في السياسة الدولية وبخاصة السلام وحل النزاعات. حملت رسالته للدراسات العليا عنوان: "Mohyeldin received his undergraduate education at American University in Washington D.C., earning a BA in International Relations with a focus on the European Union. He received an MA in International Politics with a focus on Peace and Conflict Resolution. His graduate thesis entitled "The News Media Paradigm in the War on Terrorism" was accepted by the International Association of Media Researcher's Conference in Barcelona, Spain (2002)
عمله
Mohyeldin began his career in journalism working at NBC, as a desk assistant for the Washington D.C. bureau. Mohyeldin first major assignments happened shortly after 9/11.[4] In an interview with PRWeek, Ayman describes the opportunities that arose in the aftermath of 9/11: "There was a real shortage of people with language skills or expertise in the Middle East. Just because of my language skills and the timing, so to speak, I got a lot of experience. I was thrown into a mix of things that normally desk assistants at my level would not have gotten. I started working on some big pieces that had to do with investigating 9/11 and all kinds of international terrorist connections... I was doing translation mostly, but I was also developing themes or threads to stories that either had some Middle East connection to them or some type of Arabic language skills required. So it was an unbelievable experience at a really young age."[4]
Mohyeldin coverage of major news events in the Middle East include the Iraq War, the first multi-candidate presidential Egyptian Elections in 2005, Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the 2005 Palestinian elections in the Gaza Strip. Ayman has traveled extensively in the Middle East covering the Sharm al Sheikh resort bombing (July 2005) and the Jordan Hotel bombings (November 2005).
As a producer, Mohyeldin became the first journalist to enter one of Libya's nuclear research facilities after producing Col. Muammar al-Gaddafi's first interview announcing Libya would abandon all WMD programs.[4] Mohyeldin's work in the CNN documentary "Iraq:progress report" about the daily struggles of Iraqis during the war was nominated for an Emmy Award. He served as an associate producer for the NBC News Special that also received Emmy nominations for "Ship at War: Inside the Carrier Stennis" and "Inside the Real West Wing."[4] Mohyeldin has also covered the annual Muslim Pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca and was involved in the production of CNN specials "Islam: The Struggle Within" and "Hajj: A Spiritual Journey."
الاحتجاجات المصرية 2011
قام محيي الدين بتغطية الثورة المصرية 2011 عن قناة الجزيرة الإنجليزية. في 28 يناير 2011، حدثت مواجهات بين المتظاهرين والبلطجية للسيطرة على كوبري 6 أكتوبر. وفي 30 يناير، ألغى وزير الإعلام المصري السابق أنس الفقي ترخيص قناة الجزيرة وأمر بإغلاق مكتبها بالقوة؛ مدعيا أن القناة تؤجج الاحتجاجات المناهضة للحكومة. وكان أيمن واحد من خمس صحفيين تابعين للجزيرة تم القبض عليهم واعتقالهم، بعد رفض الشبكة وقف بث أحداث الثورة للمحافظة على مصداقيتها.[5]
بعد 9 ساعات من الإفراج عنه، اعتقلته قوات الجيش مرة أخرى ميدان التحرير في 6 فبراير 2011.[6][7] [8]
حياته الشخصية
في 26 أبريل 2016 تزوج محيي الدين من عارضة الأزياء التونسية-الفرنسية كنزة الفراتي، وأقيم حفل الزفاف في مسقط رأسه بولاية جورجيا.[9] نشرت كنزة صور حفل زفافهما على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. ارتدت كنزة برنس زفاف عاجي فوق فستان قصير عاجي من بالنسياگا أثناء حفل الزفاف الذي أقيم في ماريتا، جورجيا.[10][11][12] أثناء جلسة التصوير في ساڤنا، جورجيا ارتدت كنزي ثوب زفاف "موس" هوگتون.[13][14][15]
كشفت كنزة في مقابلة مع مجلة "ڤوگ العربية" أنها تنتظر مولودها الأول من محيي الدين، مطلع عام 2017.[16] وُلدت ابنتهما درة في نيويورك في 12 مارس 2017.[17]
