اليصفوريات Xantophycées طحالب خضراء مصفرة تمثل صفاً مستقلاً ضمن شعبة الطحالب مختلفة السياط Heterokontophyta، وهي تتميز بثلاث صفات رئيسة:
ـ غزارة الأصبغة اليصفورية (الكزانتوفيلات)، إضافة إلى بيتا كاروتين واليخضور (a+c).
ـ عدم تخزينها النشاء وإنما تُستبدل به اللبيدات و سكاكر الكريزولامينارين.
ـ خلاياها المتحركة الإعاشية والتكاثرية هي من النمط مختلف السياط.
