Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh (born 15 August 1967) is an controversial figure, who has worked as a spiritual leader, social worker, actor, director and singer.^[2] He has been the head of the spiritual group Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) since 23 September 1990. The Indian Express placed Singh 96th in their list of the 100 most powerful Indians of 2015 because he has about fifty million (five crore) devotees and several politicians seek his blessings before polls.^[3]

محكمة بمدينة پنچكولا الهندية تدين رجل الدين الهندي الشهير رام رحيم سنغ بتهمة اغتصاب اثنتين من أتباعه ضمن مناخ من الانفلات الجنسي. مظاهرات بمئات الآلاف تعم ولايات هاريانا وپنجاب راجستان والعاصمة دلهي بشمال الهند احتجاجاً على الحكم، ومصرع 28 شخص في المصادمات مع الشرطة. أتباعه يقدر عددهم بخمسين مليون. ويسجل أغاني وكليبات عاطفية.
