أشباه حافريات Paenungulata، هي فرع حيوي يجمع ثلاث رتب من ثدييات موجودة: الفيليات (وتشمل الفيلة، الخيلانيات (أبقار البحر وتشمل الأطومات وخراف البحر)، والوبيرات. هناك رتبتان أخرتان معروفتان فقط كأحفورات، وهما شبيهات الكركدن والمدعمات (ومع ذلك، فقط وُضعت المدعمات ضمن ظلفيات فردية الأصابع بواسطة تحليل فرع حيوي أجري في 2014^[1]). كل من هذه الرتب الموجودة كان فريداً في طرق أعضاؤه في التعايش. شبيهات الكركدن كانت ثدييات عاشبة شبيهة بالكركدنيات بأقدام أخمصية السير، وكانت المدعمات حيوانات برمائية شبيهة بفرس النهر. وكان أسلوبهم في المشي ونظامهم الغذائي موضع تكهن، لكن قدرة الأسنان تشير إلى أن المدعمات كانت تتغذى على النباتات الأرضية وكان لها وضعية جسد تشبه الثدييات الأخرى ذات الحوافر الضخمة.^[2]
