قصص القاضي دي
القاضي لي (Judge Dee، ويعرف أيضاً باسم، القاضي دي)، هي شخصية شبه خيالية مقتبسة من الشخصية التاريخية دي رن‌جي، قاضي ورجل دولة في محكمة تانگ. ظهرت الشخصية لأول مرة في رواية التحري الصينية دي گونگ أن، في القرن 18. بعد أن كتب عنها روبرت فان گوليك في كتابه الذي وزع في طوكيو، وترجمت من الإنگليزية ثم استخدم أسلوبه وشخصياته لكتابة قصص القاضي لي الأصلية.
تدور مجموعة القصص في أسرة تانگ الصينية وتتعامل مع مختلف القضايا الجنائية التي يعمل القاضي لي على حلها، ويلعب في أغلب القصص دور التحري أو ضابط المباحث.

دي گونگ أن
شخصية القاضي دي مقتبسة من شخصية دي رن‌جي التاريخية (ح. 630-ح. 700)، قاضي ورجل دولة في محكمة تانگ. في عهد أسرة مينگ (1368-1644) في الصين، كتبت "رواية تراثية" تدور في الأوقات السابقة، لكنها كانت مليئة بالمفارقات التاريخية. عثر فان گوليك في القرن الثامن عشر على دي گونگ أن (بالصينية:狄公案 پين‌ين: dí gōng àn، وتعني حرفياً "قضايا القاضي لي")، قصة اصلية تدور حول ثلاثة قضايا مجتمعة، وكان ذلك غير مألوفاً في قصص الغموض الصينية، وكانت حبكة القصة تفتقر إلى عنصر القهر الخارق الذي يمكن أن ينفر القراء الغربيون.[1] قام گوليك بترجمتها للإنگليزية ونشرتها بعنوان القضايا الشهيرة أمام القاضي دي.
قصص فان گوليك
وكان ذلك هو مصدر فكرة الروايات التي كتبها گوليك، والتي كانت تدور حول المفارقات التاريخية في أسرة مينگ، لكنها استخدم فيها شخصية تاريخية. كان فان گوليك حريصاً في كتابة الروايات الرئيسية على أن يتعامل مع القضايا التي تحدث في المدينة التي عُين فيها دي مؤخراً، وبالتالي يخرجه عن نمط حياته، ويمكنه من تحقيق دور فعال في الكتب. لم تتلزم روايات وقصص فان گوليك بمرجعية مباشرة من العمل الصيني الأصلي ولذلك فإن القضايا الشهيرة أمام القاضي دي لا تعتبر جزء من سلسلة القاضي دي.

- In 1969 Howard Baker produced six Judge Dee stories for Granada Television.[3] These episodes were in black and white and were not a ratings success.
- In 1974 the novel The Haunted Monastery was produced as a television show by Gerald Isenberg with the title Judge Dee and the Monastery Murders. It starred Khigh Dhiegh as Judge Dee and was filmed with an all Asian cast (including Mako, Soon-Tek Oh, Keye Luke and James Hong). Writing was credited to Nicholas Meyer and Robert van Gulik.[4] It was nominated for an Edgar Award, for Best Television Feature or Miniseries in 1975.
Some of Robert van Gulik's Judge Dee stories have been adapted for Chinese TV by CCTV. As of 2012, four different DVD series are available with one series so far with English subtitles. CCTV produced series in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. The series from 2010, entitled "Detective Di Renjie" has been produced on DVD by Tai Seng entertainment with English subtitles.
2010 saw the release of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame. The film was directed by Tsui Hark
