هيستون
الهيستونات، في علم الأحياء ، هي مجموعة البروتينات الأساسية للصبغين (الكروماتين) chromatin الموجودة ضمن الصبغيات Chromosomes . تتواجد الهستونات ضمن صبغين الخلايا حقيقية النوى ، و لا تتواجد عند الجراثيم ، لكنها مع ذلك تتواجد عند بعض الجراثيم القديمة Archaea . تعتبر هذه الهستونات الأرشية الأصل التطوري للهستونات الموجودة عند حقيقيات النوى .
