هرمس وديونيسوس الرضيع، متحف اولمپيا الأثري

هرمـِس الپراكْسِيتيلي تمثال إغريقي قديم لهرمس رسول الآلهة في زعم الأساطير الإغريقية. قام بنحته النحات الأثيني پراكسيتيلس في ثلاثينيات القرن الرابع قبل الميلاد على الأرجح. وبالرغم من أن التمثال الأصلي قد فُقد، إلا أن النحات اليوناني باسيتيلز نحت نسخة منه عام 100 ق.م. على الأرحج.

In 1874, the Greek state signed an agreement with Germany for an archaeological exploration of the Olympia site, which was first dug in the French Morea expedition of 1829.

رأس تمثال هرمس، المتميز بالتشطيب عالي الصقل

وتتميز هذه النسخة بالانحناء المتناسب لجسم الإنسان بشكل حرف (S). وهذه هي خصائص أسلوب براكسيتيليس. ويصور التمثال هرمس ممسكًا بأخيه الرضيع ديونيسوس، على إحدى ذراعيه. وفي الذراع الأخرى المفقودة الآن، يمسك بعنقود من العنب ويقدمه للرضيع.
