قالب:Cite Appletons'/doc
هذه صفحة توثيق فرعية لـ قالب:Cite Appletons'. تتضمن معلومات الاستعمال، التصنيفات وأي محتوى آخر ليس من محتويات الأصل لصفحة القالب. |
Purpose
This template enables the citation of articles from the Wikisource project Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography in the manner of {{cite encyclopaedia}}.
Usage
{{Cite Appletons'|put the name of the article here}}
or with a specification of the optional year, author, notaref, noicon or vb parameters:
{{Cite Appletons'|put the name of the article here|year=year of publication|author=author name|notaref=x|noicon=x|vb=x}}
Examples
Simple
{{Cite Appletons'|Clay, Henry}}
displays as:
With comment
{{Cite Appletons'|Clay, Henry}} A popular politician in the formative years of the United States.
displays as:
قالب:Cite Appleton's A popular politician in the formative years of the United States.
Using author
and year
{{Cite Appletons'|Clay, Henry|year=1900|author=[[Carl Schurz]]}}
displays as:
Carl Schurz (1900). "Clay, Henry". Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography.
Using noicon
{{Cite Appletons'|Kapp, Friedrich|year=1900|noicon=x}}
displays as:
"Kapp, Friedrich". Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography. 1900.
Using vb
If text is incorporated verbatim into an article, the vb
parameter can be used to tack on a notice appropriate to the policy in Wikipedia:Plagiarism.
{{Cite Appletons'|Pulaski, Kazimierz|vb=x}}
displays as:
This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain: "Pulaski, Kazimierz". Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography. 1891.
Using notaref
In the examples above, this template automatically adds the hidden category "Wikipedia articles incorporating text from Appleton's Cyclopedia" to the articles it is used in. The addition of this category can be eliminated by setting the parameter notaref
to some value. For example,
{{Cite Appletons'|Blenker, Louis|notaref=x}}
will not insert the category, though there will be no noticable difference in the page. Examples of situations where use of this parameter should be made:
- the citation is made for further information only, and thus the information from the Appletons' entry has not been used in the article it is cited in
- the editor is not copying text verbatim from Appletons' into a Wikipedia article
