Purpose
The template is for making external links to the BirdLife Data Zone species pages.
Format
All parameters are required.
{{BirdLife|BirdLife sisRecID|free text}}
The BirdLife sisRecID can be found in the URL of the search results for that species.
Example of usage
*{{BirdLife|22708775|Turdus merula}}
will be displayed as

In 2014, BirdLife changed their unique identifier scheme to harmonize with the IUCN identifiers. Internally, this new identifier is referred to as the sisRecID.
New urls are in the format of this example: http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/species/factsheet/22708958
Old urls, which still work for many (but not all) species, are in this format: http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/speciesfactsheet.php?id=7116.
This template requires the use of the number from the NEW style url.
Mappings between their old identifiers (SpcRecID) and IUCN identifiers (SISRecID) can be found from BirdLife Taxonomic Checklist -file: http://datazone.birdlife.org/species/taxonomy
