حياته

ميركدانت ولد طفل غير شرعي ونهض من الفقر ليصبح مؤلف أوبرا له شهرة دولية في 1830، مع نجاح في ايطاليا واسبانيا وفيينا. كمدير كونسرفتوار نابولي من 1840 حسن من وضع المدرسة النابولية للتاليف الموسيقي ولاحقا اتجه نحو كتابة موسيقى الالات. تعلم من نجاح الاخرين مثل مايربير في باريس ومن اخطائه وواكب التغييرات في الاساليب الموسيقية والسياسة الدولية ليتمتع بالشعبية الكبرى واخر الامر الراحة المادية في حياته لكن لم يعرفه احد بعد وفاته.
