دكتور دري الاسم الحقيقي هو أندري يونغ Andre Young و يستخرج اللقب العام دري DRE من الاسم الأول anDRE ، ولد عام 1965 في لوس أنجلوس في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ، مغني لأغاني الراب و منتج فني لها و من أكثر مغني الراب شهرة و نجاحا في مجالاته.
بعد نجاحه الفردي استطاع دكتور دري في كسب حب الجماهير خصوصا بعد انضمامة لمجموعات هبهوب الساحل الغربي West Coast hip hop مع ملوك الراب و الهبهوب مثل توباك 2Pac و سنوب دوق (الكلب المتطفل) Snoop Dog الذي يلازمة الشراكة في معظم أغانيه الناجحة. و دري هو عضو كبير في غانغستا راب (راب رجل العصابات) Gangsta Rap و زعيم تسجيلات أفترماث Aftermath Records و أن دابليو أيه N.W.A و لاحقا كون مجموعه كبيرة من مغنيي الراب كحلفاء مثل سنوب دوق Snoop Dog ، إيمينيم Eminem ، و غيريهم.
و يقال أن دكتور دري توقف عن أصدار البومات جديده بعد البومه الأخير في العام 2001 الذي أصدره لأخيه المتوفي تايري يونغ Tyree Young و توقف للسبب ذاته ف تايري كان مقرب جدا لدري ، و أيضا لخلافات شخصية بين دري و المنتجين الأثرياء الذين دوما كانوا يدعمونه.
