التطويق Investment، هو تكتيك عسكري يتم بحصار حصن (أو بلدة) العدو بالقوات العسكرية لمنع الدخول أو الفرار منها.^[1]^[2]

المتراس circumvallation، هو خط تحصين، يبنيه المهاجمون حول الحصن المحاصر في مواجهة العدو للحماية من قوات العدو من التسلسل أو الهروب من الحصار.^[3]^[4]
