المطهر
المطهير Purgatory، حسب العقيدة الكاثوليكية، هي حالة وسيطة بعد الوفاة الجسدية، تحدث للخطاة المؤمنين الذين لم يتوبوا توبة كاملة عن كل خطاياهم، فيذهبون إلي المطهر حيث يطهرون بنار ويصبحوا مؤهلين لدخول الجنة.[1]وهذه العقيدة ترفضها الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية.
