ألكسندر دالرمپل، نقش كونراد وسترماير.

ألكسندر دالرمپل Alexander Dalrymple ‏FRS (عاش 24 يوليو 1737 - 19 يونيو 1808)، جغرافي ورسام بحار اسكتلندي، عمل في الأميرالية البريطانية. كان أكبر المعتقدين بوجود قارة هائلة غير مكتشفة في جنوب المحيط الهادي، Terra Australis Incognita. دفعت نظرياته العديد من الحملات الاستكشافية بحثاً عن تلك الأرض الأسطورية، حتى أدت رحلة جيمس كوك الثانية (1772-1775) إلى الجزم بأنها لو كانت موجودة فستكون إلى الجنوب من خط العرض 65 جنوباً، أي أنها ستكون صغيرة.
