Spencer Chamngtonshowed an example of pluck and endurance anddevotion to duty as a party man that will long be talkedabout in the lobbies of Parliament, The House of Commons opened its sitting at2 oclock p.m. on Tuesday, July 19th, 190-i, andcontinued to sit until 3.40 p.m. on Wednesday,July 20th, or for almost 25^ hours. It was the longestsitting for close on a quarter of a century.
