وصف قصير

⧼wm-license-information-description⧽
English: One of pictures taken from the Attius_Philippus wall, a wall from the 4th century that connected the theatre to the agora. So we look across the, mainly empty except for remains of columns, agora, to the hall across. The State Agora had a more ceremonial character than the agora used for slave trade. At the eastern side stands a so called emperors’ hall, as 20 copies of Greek statues were found here, amongst them Antoninus Pius. This is related to the fact that the town received the status of Neokoros, a city of imperial cult. What you see is essentially a wall with niches and some decoration, but one should realize this was a hall with a ceiling, the wall being its eastern side. The agora had a building at its centre, its purpose is unknown.
