Cette ruine indique le château en ruine sans son toit, mais exagérée; car le plan de masse du château créé par Boulcier indique une seule mansarde axée sur le trumeau central, pas de frontons ni de pilastres, et ici le retour vers le corps de logis n'est pas percé de fenêtres. Enfin, il faut noter qu'en 1830 ne restait au château que ses 2 tourelles.
