De nieuwe vlag van de gemeente Maasgouw. Het zwaard verwijst naar de wereldlijke macht, die ooit in Maasgouw hebben bestuurd. De abdissenstaf staat symbool voor het vorstendom Thorn, dat eeuwenlang belangrijk is geweest in dit gebied. En de witte golvende baan staat voor de Maas, de Maas is in de nieuwe gemeente Maasgouw het verbindende element. |
