English: Single flower of Latua pubiflora, 'Árbol de los Brujos' ( =Tree of the Sorcerers ), the single species in the monotypic genus Latua, belonging to the nightshade family Solanaceae and endemic to the coastal mountains of the southwest of Chile.
A strongly poisonous and hallucinogenic shrub used by the machi ( = shamans ) of the Mapuche people. |

51°30′20″N 0°18′57″W / 51.505644°N 0.315744°W Flower borne by small container-grown specimen purchased from a U.K. nursery specialising in South American plants. The plant was raised from a semi-ripe wood cutting from a 2m x 2m specimen raised from seed aquired from Chileflora and grown outdoors in a sheltered site in the county of Herefordshire, U.K.
