English: The largest extent all Muslim states across history have reached, since the 7th century A. D. and until the 20th century. Not all regions in the map had fallen under the Islamic rule for a long time, but it represents the most distant points that Islamic armies ever stepped on. Notes: Entire extension in eastern Europe represents the greatest borders of the Ottoman empire. Extension in western Europe is the most distant expansion made by Umayyad armies. In Italia, it represents the largest size of the Aghlabids state. Most of middle Asian expansion is due to the conquests of the Khwarezmid empire, while in India it is mostly due to the rule of Delhi Sultanate. Almost all extension of eastern Africa was made by the Sultanates of Oman during the period of 15-19th centuries, while west Africa was conquered by many small empires and states, most notably: Almoravids, Mali empire, and Ghana empire.
