The 9 craft flew at an altitude of 9,500-10,000 ft while transiting the c.47 mile distance between Mt Rainier and Mt Adams in southern Washington state, USA, in only 1 min. 42 s. This depiction is based more or less on Arnold's notes and drawings, which describes them as "mirror bright" and "longer than wide". They travelled in a chain like a flock of geese, diagonally stepped-down over a 5 mile distance, while weaving from side to side like the tail of a Chinese kite. When banking their mirror-like surfaces caused flashes of light.
