English: Build in 1932 this landmark bridge is part of the main access route to Sukhumi from the north.
In 1993 the bridge across the Gumista River was the site of a major and unsuccessful Abkhaz offensive during the civil war against the Georgian army, which took the lives of at least 222 Abkhaz militants.
