Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Stadt Ehrenfeld seit 1888 Stadtteil von Köln: „Geteilt in Blau und Gold (Gelb); auf der Teilungslinie ein Kammrad mit 12 Zähnen, oben golden (gelb) unten schwarz.“
Das Wappen zeigt die Farben der ehemaligen Adelsfamilie von der Ehre. Das Kammrad gilt als Zeichen der aufstrebenden Industrie im 19. Jahrhundert. English: „Per fess azure und Or, charged with a divided twelve-teethed cog weel, the upper part Or and the lower sable.“
The arms were granted in 1881 and show the colours of the former powerful von der Ehre family. The cog wheel symbolises the upcoming industry in the 19th century. |
