English: View from the coastal path adjacent to the A8 at Port Glasgow, on the site of the former Lithgows Kingston shipyard. The Kingston housing development to the left is built on part of the shipyard ground, the large ship visible behind the houses is the Capesize bulk carrier Cape Elise built in 2005, Deadweight 174124 t Length overall 289 m Breadth extreme 45 m, registered at Majuro, seen at Inchgreen quay, Greenock. To the right, Greenock's Great Harbour is used by Serco Denholm marine services.

On 1 February 2014 in stormy seas at 52 07N 014 50W a wave struck the Cape Elise, causing loss of power, steering and radar, about 180 nautical miles (333km) west of Loop Head, Ireland. It was taken in tow by four tugs, and discharged its cargo of 170,000 tonnes of coal at Hunterston Terminal before being towed to Greenock for repairs, where it arrived on 2 March 2014. Superstructure at the stern was damaged. It was anticipated that repairs would take three weeks.
