Deutsch: Kiruna ist mit etwa 18000 Einwohnern die nördlichste Stadt in Schweden. Die Stadt liegt nördlich des Polarkreises - die Mitternachtssonne scheint vom Juni bis Juli 50 Tage ununterbrochen, im Winter herrscht 20 Tage Polarnacht. Kiruna entstand als Siedlung für das Kiruna Eisenbergwerk.
English: With some 18,000 inhabitants, Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden. The city is north of the Polarkreises - the midnight sun shines uninterrupted from June to July 50 days, in the winter there is 20 days of Polarnacht. Kiruna was built as a settlement for the Kiruna Ironworks.
