النبتونية Neptunism، نظرية عرفت في نهاية القرن الثامن عشر وبداية القرن التاسع عشر، وتنص على أن كل صخور الأرض تكونت بالترسيب في محيط ابتدائي قديم، وقد تبناها إبراهام فارنر (1750 - 1817م)
