مصطلح التزحلق على الجبال mountaineering، يصف رياضة تسلق الجبال، والتي تشمل التزلج على الجبال. المشي لمسافات طويلة في الجبال يمكن أن يصبح أيضاً شكل مبسط من التزحلق على الجبال عندما يشمل الهرولة، أو المشي لمسافات قصيرة بدرجة أكبر من تسلق الصخور، وكذلك عبور المثالج.
