لوي جاك مانديه داگـِر Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre (عاش 18 نوفمبر 1787 – 10 يوليو 1851) كان رساماً ومهندس ديكور مسرحي وكيميائياً فرنسياً، اشتهر بإختراعه عملية داگروتيب للتصوير الفوتوغرافي. يُعد أبا للتصوير الضوئي، تسمى لوحاته بالتصوير الداجييري.
وُلد داجيير في كورماي-أن-پاريسي بالقرب من باريس. أصبح مبدعًا مسرحيًا ماهرًا، وقام بتطوير المسرح المسمى الديوراما بباريس، ورسم فيه مشاهد من الطبيعة، مستعملاً الضوء كتقنية لتجسيد مجموعة من المشاهد الوهمية المتغيرة. وقد حدت به رغبته في تطوير هذه المشاهد إلى العمل مع جوزيف نيسفور نييبس العالم الفرنسي الذي اخترع أول تقنية للتصوير.

"Boulevard du Temple", taken by Daguerre in late 1838 or early 1839 in باريس, was the first photograph of a person. The image shows a street, but because exposure time was over ten minutes, the traffic was moving too much to appear. The exception is the man at the bottom left, who stood still getting his boots polished long enough to show. (click photo to enlarge)
