 حياته

مشوار راف المهني كان في 1840 بتشجيع من مندلسون وليست (الذي دائما ما كان يساعده في الخروج من الصعوبات المالية). بعد تعيينه في بلاط ڤايمار أنتج بشكل مستقل معظم انتاجه الهائل الذي يتمتع بالتنوع الشديد. عام 1860 و1870 كان يحترم بشدة كمؤلف ومدرس موسيقى لكن اتهامات الكم بدلا من الكيف والجدالات مع مستخدميه سيطرت على سنواته الاخيرة وسمعته وهنت.

He died in Frankfurt on the night of June 24/25, 1882. His tomb is in Frankfurt Main Cemetery.
