حياته

ولد في ليون من اسرة من صناع الة الارغن سرعان ما نال السمعة كعازف ارغن في الاقاليم الفرنسية. في وسط ال20 من عمره حل محل ليفبار ويلي في سانت سالبيس في باريس حيث ظل ل64 سنة وما زال يعزف في ال90 من عمره. ايضا درس الارغن والتاليف الموسيقي في كونسرفتوار باريس لكن تعليمه الجرماني العميق (حيث يعود مدرسه الخاص الى سلالة تمتد الى باخ) ادت الى تعارض مع معاصره فوريه. الف ويدور الكثير من اعمال الباليه والاوبرا والاغنيات والاعمال الاوركسترالية لكن اعظم نجاحه في التاليف كان عشر سمفونيات عظيمة للارغن الصولو التي تختلف من رقم 7 المتطلبة المهيبة ورقم 8 الى التوكاتا الشائعة والحركة الختامية من رقم 5 وهي مكون مالوف من احتفالات الزفاف. موسيقاه

سيمفونيات الأرغن رقم 5 ورقم 6

من بين العشر سيفمونيات التي كبتها ويدور للأرغن رقم 5 و6 هي الأشهر والأكثر تسجيلا بشكل متكرر. يتكون كلاهما من خمس حركات متنوعة مما يجعلها أشبه بمتتاليات منها كسيمفونيات. رقم 5 تبدأ بمجموعة لامعة من التنويعات، تنتقل من الطابع الراقص إلى الجاد. الطابع الغنائي للأليجرو التالي يأتي مباشرة من الصالون، في حين الأندانتي التالي يدور حول لحن افتتاحي كوميدي نوعا ما.. إذا كان الأداجيو الذي يشبه الترانيم هو الحركة الوحيدة التي تقترح شخصية دينية، أيضا تعمل لإقامة خاتمة عنيفة في قالب التوكاتا، حيث يولد ويدور دافع خارق خلال التكرار الملح لجملة بسيطة نسبيا.

رغم أن رقم 6 غير معروف، هو عمل أعمق من سابقه ويكشف عن دين عميق لباخ في التدوين السريع للحركة الأولى الرائعة. تأكيد باخ واضح أيضا في الكانتابل في الحركة الرابعة، الذي يحمل طابع مقدمة كورالية، رغم لحنه الأساسي الخفيف. في الخاتمة اللامعة يطور ويدور لحن روندو أساسي بطريقة تصل لإحساس متصاعد بالتوتر والإثارة.[2]
