English: Plaque at Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge in Loleta, California "Richard (Rich) J. Guadagno was a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee who devoted his life to the conservation of natural resources. Rich was Refuge Manager of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge from March 12, 2001 to September 11, 2011. While returning to California on September 11, Rich's plane United Airlines Flight 93, was hijacked by terrorists and crashed in rural Pennsylvania, killing everyone on board. Rich, a Refuge Law Enforcement Officer, died as a hero on Flight 93, one of several who prevented further tragedy at the cost of their lives. ... "
