High of 54 degrees Fahrenheit 50 degrees Fahrenheit at capture A large adult salamander found at the beginning of a small spring along a wooded hillside on a cloudy day, with rain not too long before. Several dusky salamanders were observed before flipping this under a large moss-covered rock. Actually securing this salamander was very difficult, as it quickly slid through my hands and into the spring, at one point almost disappearing into a portion of the disturbed water. During photographs it began heavily misting. Hamilton County, Tennessee |
