The Legislature having voted a sum of $15,000 for thereception of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess ofCornwall and York, the Government invited a number of repre-sentative citizens to form themselves into a reception committeeto aid in arranging and carrying out a suitable programme. Under date the 12th of August, 1901, a circular letter,issued from the office of the Colonial Secretary, convening ameeting in the Council Chamber, Colonial Building, for Thursday,the 15th inst., at 4 oclock, for the purpose of electing a chair-man and inaugurating the work of the said committee.
