The purpose of this map is to give an indication of the de facto administrative boundary of Iraqi Kurdistan (the "Green Line") as it exists at present, and is recognized by the Iraqi interim constitution. There are other maps on wikipedia showing ethnic boundaries, hoped-for political boundaries, etc, but that's not my purpose here. Boundary representation is, needless to say, not definitive.
