English: The Honorable Mayor Barry Link of the Municipality of Schinnen (left), is escorted into the USAG Schinnen Gallery by U.S. Army Lt. Col. Fern O. Sumpter, USAG Schinnen Commander Sept. 19. In the background is an aerial photo of the Emma Mine Complex of which Shaft IV, the site of USAG Schinnen today, was a part to provide ventilation to miners and allow stones to be brought into the mine to replace the mined coal from 1946 to 1956.
