Deutsch: Der eherne Reiter, eines der Wahrzeichen von Sankt Petersburg, Russland. Im Hintergrund das Verfassungsgericht der Russischen Föderation. Das Reiterstandbild wurde 1782 errichtet. Es zeigt den Zaren Peter der Große. Der Sockel besteht aus einem Monolith mit einem Gewicht von etwa 1.250 Tonnen, der aus dem 20 Kilometer entfernten Lachta stammt. Peter der Große war von 1682 bis 1721 Zar und Großfürst von Russland.
English: The Brazen Rider, one of the landmarks of Saint Petersburg, Russia. In the background the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. The equestrian statue was erected in 1782. It shows the Tsar Peter the Great. The base consists of a monolith weighing around 1,250 tons, which comes from Lachta, 20 kilometers away. Peter the Great was Tsar and Grand Duke of Russia from 1682 to 1721.
